CAPACITY-BUILDING

Formerly known as “Professional Development” and “Evaluation”
  • A two-tier curriculum for capacity building implemented to support beginners and more advanced participants
  • Develop a tested and pragmatic system for assessing services gaps and outcomes in schools and communities that result in actionable data in capacity building efforts
  • Help create the “story” of arts education in Newark

ENGAGEMENT

Formerly known as “Advocacy” and “Communication”
  • Manage launch of new organization name, identity, logo
  • A locally credible branding and communications strategy for advocacy has been created and will be implemented over the coming partner year

TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE

  • Provide training to youth-serving organizations on trauma awareness to deepen pedagogical approaches to arts education and better support Newark youth
  • Develop shared criteria for assessing intentional, quality arts-programming to improve trauma informed care
  • Help empower arts and healthcare professionals and the community with integrated best practices

CHILDREN’S CABINET ARTS EDUCATION SUBCOMMITTEE/10th ANNIVERSARY PROGRAM

  • Alongside other Children’s Cabinet sub-committees, link up resources and activities devoted to South Ward network of schools and community partners with the arts education community and resources
  • Act as program liaisons for partner events such as: National Night Out, River Day, Schools That Can conference and others
  • Strategize 10-year celebration of founding of NAER/AEN!
